Job opportunities at the flag state administration

The German flag state administration consists of BG Verkehr (Ship Safety Division), the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH), the Federal Network Agency and the shipping registers. Each of these institutions publishes their job offers on their own website.

Among other things:

Completed university degree (Bachelor or equal) preferably in Public Adminstration; alternatively professional qualification for higher non-technical adminstration service as well as job experience

Shipbuilding engineer (m/diverse/f)

Among other things:

Completed engineering or technical university degree

(Bachelor/polytechncial diploma or something equal) in shipbuilding or marine technology

extensive knowledge in relevant safety standards and guidelines, in particular international provisions (codes & conventions) and several years of prof. experience, e.g. in an engineers' office, a shipyard or with a classdification society

Ideally, experience with glas in ship construction, also appreciated would be knowledge of wooden ships and building boats from fibre composites. Practical experience with construction supervision would be desirable.

Either highest engineering competence acc. to See-BV

At least 4 years time at sea, 2 of which in a leading role

STCW CoP

or

Completed polytechnical or university degree (Bachelor/polytech Diploma) in ship operation engineering, shipbuilding engineering or equivalent

at least 5 years prof experience in maritime technical area

Knowledge of fishing vessel, wooden and GRP would be appreciated

Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency
